Alexandra Waller, Nathaniel Elberfeld, and Lavender Tessmer received their Master of Architecture degrees from Washington University in St. Louis in 2011, subsequently serving as full-time faculty teaching design studios and courses in architectural representation, design research, and digital fabrication.

Sharing interest and scholarship in design computation, labor optimization, material economy, and customizable production, Waller, Elberfeld, and Tessmer each pursued post-professional degrees (SMArchS) in the Design and Computation group in the Department of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and formalized their collaborations as Teltta in 2020.

Teltta’s current research investigates novel workflows and holistic systems of production and prioritizes dialogue between computation, craft, and contextual resource economies. Teltta’s creative work has been exhibited publicly in galleries and museums including the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis and at Design Seaport in Boston, Massachusetts, and their scholarship has been published internationally.
